From the time I was small, I was always happiest with a crayon in my hand. My love of art has continued throughout my life, even while life necessities took me through a couple of decades working in the banking and insurance industries. When life twisted again in the summer of 2017, I decided to take the leap and make the creation of art my full time vocation.
A self taught painter, working primarily in acrylic on canvas, I strive to create a mood or sense of place with my paintings, through the use of bold colour and sweeping brush strokes, accented by crisp lines and tiny dots. An offhanded comment by my husband, led me to create a line of Wearable Art for men and women.
The Wearable Art is a line of lapel pins, cuff links, pendants and brooches. They are prints of original watercolour paintings, set under glass, in nickel and lead free metal settings. Each piece is painted in the size of the finished product which are half an inch to one and a half inches in diameter, before being photographed. They are then hand set into the final product.
These tiny works of art are crisp, professional, but whimsical in their subject matter. They allow men and women to inject some interest to their outfit, and to wear art.
I welcome suggestions on what you would like to see in Wearable Art. Feel free to send ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org, and come back often to check out new work!
